Egyptian Water Bottle

Glass perfume bottles are common all over the Middle East.

I was recently given a set of three as a gift by a very special friend. This set reminded me of our visit to Egypt last year and the perfume shop we visited while there. Imagine a whole shop devoted to your nose. The visit started with some mint tea and a menu was presented to us listing all the fragrances we could chose. It was quite exquisite.

The girls and I thought it might be fun to decorate our water bottles to look like these works of beauty. Here is the water bottle made by my four year old, inspired by these bottles.

You'll need
Tissue paper
Scissors
Mod Podge
Sponge brush
Little bowl for Mod Podge
Empty water bottle

Pour the Mod Podge into the little bowl so it's easier to work with the sponge brush.

Cut the tissue paper into strips, flowers, leaves or any other designs you'd like to cover your water bottle.

Put Mod Podge on your water bottle with the sponge brush and the cut tissue paper on top of that. The rule of thumb is that less is more. The tissue paper is very thin, so you only need a tiny bit of Mod Podge to hold the paper to the water bottle.

That's it, your decorated water bottle is done. Let it dry, put a coat of Mod Podge over the tissue to add a layer of protection and enjoy your drink. My daughter also added a sequence to the flower center to add a bit of bling.

Here is the water bottle next to its inspiration.
