Ramadan Good Deeds Book

This little book is perfect for recording your good deeds during Ramadan. Make ones like ours to record all the good deeds you do for the next 30 days. Wear it around your neck and you'll always have something to write on.

You'll need
8 1/2 x 11 piece of paper
Ruler
Pencil
Scissors
Stapler
Thin nail
Ribbon
Pencil/Colour pencils
Glue stick

Measure and cut a 2 1/4 x 10 1/2 inch strip from the piece of paper.

Measure in 1 1/2 inches from one end of the long paper strip you just cut. Fold the strip at this point. Continue accordion folding the strip. Fold the paper neatly and crease each fold well. Set this piece aside.

Measure and cute a 2 x 4 1/2 inch rectangle from the manila file folder.

Make marks on the 1 3/4, then 1/4 inch from that, then 2inches from that, and finally 1/2inch from that onto the inside of the manila rectangle.

Fold the rectangle on teh marks and cute the corners on the 1/2 fold at the end.

Staple the 1/2 inch cut corned side down to the main flap.

Glue the last page of the accordion folded booklet to the back of the folded cover. The longer front flap will tuck into the shorter one when the book is closed (like a matchbook).

With a nail (or in our case a hole punch) punch a hole in the center of the arrow spine at the top of the book (the space between the back cove and the front flap). You want to make sure you have a backing where you are going to punch the hole. We used the cork on the back of our ruler.

Cut a length of ribbon long enough to fit over your heard. Tie the ends together. Thread the folded end of the ribbon trough the hole from the inside out. The knot will catch on the inside of the hook.

Decorate the outside of your book with your name and your own unique design. With the pen, write your good deeds during the month of Ramadan in your book.

My daughters ran off before I could take a photo of the completed project, but I'll track them down to show you want it looks like finished :)
