Okay, so today didn't really have anything to do with Ramadan or Eid, but when I saw this Twisted box, I knew we had to try it. Let me tell you, it's very addicting to twist and un-twist this thing. After my daughter made the box, she really wanted to take it upstairs to her room to put paperclips in, but I just couldn't stop twisting it. Finally she had to snatch it out of my hands to save it.
You'll need
10 1/2 x 6 solid colour cardstock
Scrap pieces of paper
Circle punches (not pictured)
Scissors
Bone folder
Double sided tape
Ruler
Use the bone folder to score the paper at 2 1/2 inches wide and then you'll have a 1/2 at the end for the flap. Fold over all these marks. Also score the card along the vertical and diagonal lines between the rectangles.
Punch out circles in different sizes and colours.
Use the double sided tape to attach the circles to the cardstock.
Your cardstock will look similar to this. We found it easier that the circles were not placed on the fold. If you use different shapes and maybe glued them down, it might be different. Or you can even try colouring your cardstock with markers/crayons instead of punching out shapes!
Tape the flap with the double sided tape and attach it to the other side to make a single piece.
Flatten the box and slowly push your thumbs together.
The box will automatically start to spring into shape once you twist your right hand towards you.
Now slowly hand the box to your child and walk away...otherwise you'll be sitting there twisting and un-twisting for hours on end.
